Aera Payment & Identification AS, has acquired the Danish eCommerce payments company Swiipe. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Aera's journey to establish a pan-European leader in in-store and eCommerce payments, incorporating identity-, payments- and financial services. The integration will enhance speed, scale, and innovation to better serve merchants across the Nordic region, Benelux, and beyond. Aera is a Norwegian merchant-owned payments provider supported by industry leaders such as NorgesGruppen, Coop Norge, and Colruyt Group.

As the new PSD3 and PSR (the Third Payment Services Directive and the Payment Services Regulation) are entering into their final legislative stage at the end of the year, it is important to assess in detail the main issues the payment market has been facing in Europe and evaluate how these regulations could address these hurdles.
